To learn more about JFS, please visit jfssd.org.   Description Position Title: Hand Up Food Pantry Warehouse Assistant Organization: Jewish Family Service of San Diego Position Type: Temporary, Full-time (37.5 hours), non-exempt Salary: $15- 16/ Hour Position Overview The Hand Up Food Pantry team distributes food from several county-wide locations and is supported by community food drives and donations. The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for tracking all food distributed and people served and driving the Agency's vehicles for food rescue and food drive pick-ups. Program assistant will be required to work below hours with remainder of schedule flexible. 7.5 hours every Monday 3 hours Tuesday 5 hours on the third Thursday of each month 7.5 hours two Sundays each month Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Maintain good donor relationship during recurring Fresh Rescue pickup from various locations including: Target, Whole Foods, Vons, Ralphs, etc. Warehouse organization of incoming products, including maximizing limited space and rotating perishable product Assist with inputting data into client database Serve diverse food-insecure community members Direct volunteers in tasks and projects Maintaining invoices and donation receipts Other responsibilities, as assigned   Position Requirements Position Requirements The ideal candidate will have: High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred A clean driving record Good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills Excellent oral communication skills Must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly during a shift Must be able to stand, walk, and move for several hours at a time   Location Jewish Family Service of San Diego - Turk Family Center   Category Nutrition   EOE Statement Jewish Family Service is an equal opportunity employer.
