GENERAL PURPOSE

Under the administrative supervision of the Program Director, this position is responsible for the clinical supervision of START Coordinators, Behavioral Coaches, Interns; and assisting the Program Director in the functioning of the program.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is an at-will leadership position within a program. Additionally, this position is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of assigned staff who perform the established duties of the program.  This is a management position responsible for ensuring that clinical needs of members are met, and that necessary paperwork is complete and accurate. Periodically supervises Personal Service Coordinators and/or assessment coordinators and assists the Program Director in the functioning of the Program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY)

  • Provides clinical supervision to staff (individual and group)
  • Completes all tasks associated with both fidelity to the START Model, program certification of the START Model, and individual certification in the START Model.
  • Coordinates care with system partners   
  • Provides in-service, training, education on START model and/or treatment needs to stakeholders/community partners as needed.
  • Assists teams with coordination and service plans that reflect measurable objectives; attends all mandated meeting identified by funder.
  • Assists teams in prioritizing resources to complete paperwork requirements per county and outlining areas for improvement in documentation.
  • Ensures that paperwork standards are met, especially for progress notes, biopsychosocial assessments, and treatment plans.
  • Assists the Program Director in all areas of program development as needed. 
  • Problem solves communication difficulties between staff and members by providing interventions to enhance communication.
  • Visits members periodically to provide direction and support; Ensures the safety, health, and wellbeing of the members.
  • Provides prompt intervention in the event of a crisis both to stop the crisis and to notify, when indicated, persons and agencies necessary for the resolution of the crisis situation; provides “on-the-spot” counseling that is both helpful to the members and consistent with the philosophy of the program.
  • Rotates back up supervisory coverage to staff assigned to after-hours crisis response activities.
  • Provides structure and oversite for internal chart audits and represents the agency in state and/or audits from funder.
  • Participates in off-site trainings and provides in-service training for all staff.
  • Facilitate groups, provide individual and family therapy, and update diagnosis for clients not receiving medication management services from the program psychiatrist.

  • Get to multiple locations typically via car.
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES

Education, Training and Experience

A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is through graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field and licensed as a LCSW, MFT, LPCC, or Clinical Psychologist.  

Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:

  • California driver’s license & current vehicle insurance/registration if driving; and,
  • Reliable means of transportation capable of passing vehicle safety inspection if more than five years old excluding all modes of two-wheeled transport inclusive of bicycles, mopeds and motorcycles.
  • License eligibility/registration with BBS or CA Board of Psychology
