We are seeking a Landing Craft Technical Deputy to join our team in Washington DC (near Washington Navy Yard). The ideal candidate will:

  • Provide direct support to the Landing Craft Technical Support Lead (liaison between Governmental entities).
  • Assist in the management and leadership of support team personnel, support business plan development and execution, and schedule development.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert in the SSC and LCAC, hull, mechanical and electrical (HM&E) systems and provide technical recommendations.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert in the SSC and LCAC, Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Navigation (C4N) systems and provide technical recommendations.
  • Providing technical support to NAVSEA (PMS3774) Program Office Technical Division, Air Cushion Vehicles (ACV) Team.
  • Assist the ACV Technical Lead in the:
    • Organization and management of large projects that involve 4-Div ACV technical teams to ensure a quality product is delivered on time.
    • Coordination of cross-divisional work items and projects and working closely with counterparts to deliver technical products, schedules, and future planning.
    • Assessment, analysis, and recommendation of solutions for new, modified/enhanced capability systems onboard Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) and Ship-to-Shore Connector (SSC) craft.
    • Validation of proposed LCAC Service Life Extension Program (SLEP), E-SLEP, and SSC work packages, ECPs, craft construction drawings and CDRL submittals.
    • Production of technical white papers, briefs, and other deliverables as requested by the PMS3774 client.
    • Identification of potential cost impacts/savings for various technical proposals and their impact to the end user upon introduction to the fleet.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline with 5-7 years of applicable experience.
• Former LCAC operator (ACU-4/ACU-5/NBU-7) with 9-11+ years experience along with combination of coursework and experience, is acceptable for consideration for a position in lieu of degree.
• Knowledge of relevant tools, equipment, hardware, and software.
• Effective organization level communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
An Active, Current or Interim Secret Clearance.
