Position Sales & Marketing Intern  
Description

SUMMARY: This position will support the sales and marketing team in the development, coordination, and execution of marketing campaigns. The sales/marketing Intern will communicate directly with our current customer base to ensure continued business, as well as customer satisfaction. Intern will also be responsible for assisting in lead generation, maintenance of customer contact database and cold calling.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Make sales calls to potential customers (cold calling)
  • Assist in the development of a content strategy for social media, email, website and print media
  • Assist in the delivery of a content strategy and maintain marketing campaigns across a variety of platforms while assisting other sales account executives
  • Develop, maintain and promote content across multiple social networks to generate sales leads
  • Develop and maintain client contacts for division campaigns
  • Ensure customer service satisfaction and maintain good client relationships
  • Proactively contact existing customer base to ensure timely renewals of software maintenance and support contracts
  • Participate in sales events
  • Maintain sales activity records and prepare weekly reports
  • Assist sales account executives
  • Other duties as assigned.

Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time. Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis. Able to perform general office administration activities on a daily basis. Able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is done in an office setting and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Enrolled full-time and completion of at least two years in an accredited degree program with at least a 3.0 Grade Point Average or a graduate from an accredited, undergraduate program in communications, marketing, graphic design, or a similar field.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Highly organized and reliable, with strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Active participation and experience with social media technology. Experience with email marketing, online publishing and graphic design tools (Microsoft Publisher, MailChimp, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop), and strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
