Description

1. Agency Relationship

  • Maintain a professional relationship with all agency staff.

2. Training and Safety

  • Work in a safe manner at all times. Ensure personal understanding of agency and company safety policies, procedures and objectives. Know and understand the Work Safety Rules of the company.
  • Attend all training and safety meetings and maintain all procedures and practices in accordance with all written instructions.

3. Inspection Protocols

  • Follow all written protocols with each vessel inspected.
  • Remain professional in conduct relative to the general public. Refer any questions of procedures or practices to your supervisor.
  • Be aware of and knowledgeable of the DFG latest instructions and announcements regarding the invasive species. Learn about and distribute the boater education materials provided.
  • Help boaters to care for their craft by providing tips and post inspection suggestions for further implementation.
  • Be mindful of the investment boaters have made in their equipment and treat it with great care when boarding and inspecting the vessel.
  • Immediately report quagga mussel discovery at any stage to local DFG and Agency, and prevent the release of the vessel to the owner.
  • Report any public belligerence to the Rangers as soon as possible, remaining out of harm and backing down from a confrontation at all times.

4. Park and Inspection Facility Maintenance

  • Through frequent inspections and walk around of the general area, ensure facilities and equipment are kept clean and in good repair.
  • Monitor all maintenance projects that need attention and inform project supervisor.
  • Follow Agency requirements for maintaining landscape, buildings and the ramp.

5. Customer Relations

  • Remain professional and objective at all times. A friendly demeanor is required.
  • Resolve concerns of boaters if possible by instruction regarding the threat of quagga infestation and ways to pass inspections in the future.

6. Administrative

  • Complete your time card each day and sign at end of shift on the last workday of the pay period.
  • Make a note in the log of materials consumed including forms, bands, water, etc.
  • Provide accurate and timely data entry into the QID system, emphasis on inspection failures.
