Location: Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) Bethesda, MD

Type of Position : Contract - One year contract, June 22, 2020 to June 21, 2021

Positions Available : One (1) Full-Time (40 hours per week) position available.

The successful candidate will report to the On-Site Supervisor and Human Resources at our corporate office. Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Possess a minimum of three (3) + years of full time PACS/IT experience in a military hospital environment and successfully completed an Associate and/or Bachelor's Degree Program.
  • The contractor will become familiar with the DICOM interface requirements for the modalities integrated in the PACS, including Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), Digital Radiography and Fluoroscopy, Nuclear Imaging systems, and Ultrasound Imaging.
  • Contractor must have CompTIA Security + Certification and an Operating System (OS) Certification per DOD 8570.01-M and SECNAV 5239. CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, MCITP, MCITP: Server Administrator, MCTS, MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory: Configuration, and MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure: Configuration certifications.
  • Contractor must possess knowledge in IT networking, security, and hardware troubleshooting of PCs.
  • Contractor must understand computing languages such as - Solaris, UNIX, Linux, and Windows.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in AGFA IMPAX 6.X, MedWeb, PeerVue, CHCS, Talk Technology, HTML, and PHP would be highly desired.
  • He/She must be a technical expert on Digital Enhancement techniques used by the previous modalities to maintain quality assurance.
  • The contractor must be a technical expert on computer networking, including the different standards, protocols, and topologies.
  • In order to reduce breakdowns, eliminate hazards, enhance accuracy, and improve reliability the contractor must have the ability to recommend, develop, and implement redesign, reconfiguration, or modification of operating procedures.
  • The contractor is recognized as a technical expert who is familiar with the theory, design characteristics, operation, and functions of the PACS systems that he/she manages.
  • The contractor possesses a thorough knowledge and vast experience in the theories, techniques, and practices of electronics in conjunction with digital computer systems, digital video processing and storage devices, physics, medical terminology, optics, mechanics, and standard hospital procedures. Has the ability to apply this knowledge on complex medical systems, which are multidisciplinary in nature.
  • Extensive practical experience in x-ray system maintenance, computer maintenance, and medical video systems is required.
  • Contractor has knowledge of the theory and practice of x-ray generators, radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging systems, and digital subtraction systems.
  • Contractor has knowledge of digital imaging and fluoroscopic image quality assurance techniques.
  • Contractor has a working knowledge of the capabilities, limitations, operations, design characteristics, and functional uses of a wide variety of medical systems and electronic measurement instrumentation. Such knowledge is related to and in some cases equivalent to a full professional engineering knowledge, which enables the technician to analyze the function of specific medical devices or systems.
  • Must be fully qualified in the interpretation of manufacturers' theory of operation and service instruction manuals; electrical and electronic schematic diagrams; digital logic diagrams, timing charts and state tables.
 
Position Requirements

Required Qualifications :

  • Possess a minimum of three (3) + years of full time PACS/IT experience in a military hospital environment and successfully completed an Associate and/or Bachelor’s Degree Program.
  • Three (3) years of working experience.
  • Shall be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be a United States (US) Citizen
