Position Summary: The Applications Engineer Intern assists in developing, maintaining and verifying quality hardware and software test solutions for the commercial, military, and transportation markets of Diagnosys Systems Inc. The Applications Engineer Intern reports to the Systems Engineering Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with the engineering team in the preparation of designs and specifications for programming projects.
  • Utilize Diagnosys and third-party test products to verify test programs to effectively and efficiently troubleshoot customer circuit cards
  • Prepares engineering documents such as Wire List, BOMS and Drawing sketches for cables.
  • Assists in Integrating the specified hardware and software to effectively and efficiently troubleshoot circuit cards per customers' requirements.

Key Tasks:

  • Verify application specific Software Solutions using NI LabVIEW and NI TestStand
  • Work with Engineering to define and integrate application specific Hardware solutions
  • Interface with other engineers as required to resolve technical issues
  • Perform Circuit, Device de-soldering / soldering
  • Component research

Education/Experience: Minimum – Working toward a BSEE/BSECE/ BSRBE

Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Must speak English.

Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: Knowledge of a programing language. Proficient in MS-Office Suite.
