Under the direction of the Bakery Manager, the Production Supervisor will oversee and direct the daily and weekly production of the Bakery for general sales and events. This position is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of individual support plans as part of the culinary service curriculum for students with Level 3 and 4 disabilities and providing department-specific training and coaching for assigned activities coordinator/s.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide guidance and direction to the Bakery staff for production logistics.
  2. Assist in the designing, planning and execution of the Bakery skills training program.
  3. Provide Bakery Manager with information regarding staff performance.
  4. Assist and support participants with meaningful, creative activities, and expressions of their talents.
    • Provide department-specific assistance in the training of assigned activities coordinator/s.
  5. Ensure activities coordinators have completed all proper documentation (i.e. ID notes, vital sheets, communication logs, schedules, RAD forms and incident reports) is completed timely to meet deadlines.
    • Responsible for execution of client employee documentation for client care and performance.
  6. Perform inventory, receive food and supply orders, dating and coding.
  7. Ensure all employees are in compliance with Dept. of Labor and SNHD regulations.
    • Process payroll.
  8. Assists in the production of Cookies and other baked goods.
  9. Participates and lead in department huddles.
  10. Participates in meetings in the absence of the Bakery Manager, or when required.
  11. Report suspected Mistreatment to your bakery manager or Case Manager immediately (per OV policy) and no later than 24 hours via incident report, as mandated by state law.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position supervises all Bakery staff and the client care of client employees in the Bakery.

 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Must possess social perceptiveness to assess and understand other’s reactions and behaviors.
  • Ability orchestrate production according to service timelines.
  • Ability to instruct and mentor bakery students.
  • Must lead by example.
  • Ability to interpret instructions, gain additional knowledge and departmental insight and have initiative.
  • Computer literate.
  • Must encompass professional demeanor.
  • Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Required Three – five years’ experience working in Bakery production,
  • Required: Review all plans of participant(s) within your care within 30 days.
  • Required: Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid Certification is required or the ability to supply certification within 90 days.
  • Required: Current Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification is required or must be obtained within 90 days.
  • Required: Valid Nevada Driver’s License and clean three year driving history.
  • Preferred: One – three years managerial (Leadership) experience.
  • Preferred: Experience working with individuals with disabilities.

  • Ability to lift and move boxes up to 50 pounds.

  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment, examine documents, records, files and operate kitchen utensils.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours along with weekends and holidays for special events.
  • Work requires some physical strain such as long periods of standing, bending, climbing and lifting overhead. Will be on your feet for 90% of the time.
  • Ability to work in in a typical kitchen environment around power equipment, very hot conditions in some areas during summer season, slippery floors and dusty areas
