Director of Representation, Inclusion, and Equity 

Description

The Director of Representation, Inclusion, and Equity will be responsible for executing the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives at the Academy. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will work within the Office of Representation, Inclusion, and Equity (RIE) and with the COO to take DEI to the next level. You are an expert in the field of DEI who has a track record of identifying and solving systematic problems within an organization and creating and implementing measurable solutions to impact change in DEI. You are capable of communicating on levels that can inspire and remove roadblocks, utilizing data, collaboration, and innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) subject matter expert by giving perspective, insights, and knowledge in a consultative manner.
  • Create, design, and implement a company-wide and business-specific diversity strategic plan with the Office of RIE and in partnership with department leads.
  • Partner with department leads to create goals for their department related to DEI that are measurable and impactful.
  • Oversee supplier diversity initiative, looking at vendors across the organization and analyze and assist with recommendations for diverse and sustainable suppliers.
  • Develop critical measures of success for DEI strategies that are consistent throughout the organization, utilizing this data to guide decision making for the future.
  • Work with Human Resources to identify policies and processes for attracting and including diverse talent, making construct recommendations for either modifying existing ones or creating new ones.
  • Provide leadership to Employee Resource Groups and help align goals of the Office of RIE with actions and outcomes.
  • Partnering with HR, serve as a coach to executives regarding engagement strategies for diverse talent and building personal narratives around diversity.
  • Serve as a partner in professional development to embed Inclusion skills in all programs.
  • Verify, aggregate, and report diversity statistics and processes across the entire organization in conjunction with departments, consultants, and other experts.
 
Position Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years of leading and implementing diversity and inclusion programs in a complex organization.
  • Superior change management capabilities with effective relationship building skills across an organization.
  • Must be disciplined, data-oriented, and analytical when leading and possess strong business and emotional intelligence.
  • Proven ability to challenge accepted wisdom and practices, balancing the strategic with the day-to-day execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, build relationships, and deliver results in a complex, cross-functional organization.
  • Must be extremely flexible, proactive, and highly organized with the ability to shift priorities, multi-task, and handle heavy workflow processing.
