Engineering Supervisor - PE 

Description
  1. Supervise Product/Design Engineering teams to meet customer requirements and timing; supervise resource planning, team work load distribution, and provide coaching.
  2. Lead adherence Product Development Process (PDP) deliverables for product engineering.
  3. Support staffing, program timing, and product engineering for quote estimates for pursuit.
  4. Support on-time flawless program launches with alignment to PDP and meet plant metrics.
  5. Support cost savings, continuous improvement projects and corporate strategies as appropriate.
  6. Comply with PAPP and TS16949 standards relative to Design Review Requirements.
  7. Provide monthly forecast (spending / collections) to the Engineering Manager, as applicable.
  8. Support Service activities, as needed with Engineering deliverables.
  9. Participate in warranty improvement activities.
 
Position Requirements

Requirements

  1. Minimum seven (7) years experience with interior product design and engineering.
  2. Strong Leadership skills; Self-Motivation, and Self-Direction;   Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks under demanding situations.
  3. Ability to work in a team environment, as an active team member, group facilitator and a leader.
  4. Ability to hire, train, coach, mentor and inspire team members across multiple sites.
  5. Ability to communicate and build effective relationships
  6. High level of analytical problem solving skills.
  7. Working knowledge of GD&T and injection molding and soft trim forming technologies; Experience in plastic injection molding design and design for manufacturing.
  8. Travel is required.  Willingness to travel to support all periods of product development through plant launches.

Preferred

  1. Knowledge of manufacturing processes: injection molding, plastic welding, press lamination, cut and sew, foam-in-place, adhesive application, plastic welding, and injection molding tool design.
  2. Familiar with CAE capabilities.  Mold Flow, Stiffness, Model Analysis.
  3. Work experience in automotive industry or similar industry.
  4. Previous managerial/supervisorial experience.
  5. Plant Operations/Plant Engineering experience.
 
Education Requirement Bachelor's Degree - Engineering REQUIRED; Master's Degree - Engineering PREFERRED
