Your role at MOBE

This position is a key member of the Consumer Insights team that is responsible for gathering customer, end-user and market intelligence and synthesizing information, developing actionable strategic insights and recommendations for the business from qualitative and quantitative data gathering, synthesis and analysis. This position will gather customer, end-user and competitor insights through primary custom market research, including surveys and focus groups, and secondary sources such as market reports and other publicly available information. Will also be responsible for mining internal data to identify unmet needs of the MOBE end-user population.

Customer, end-user and market research is a central and vital component of delivering value to the enterprises and people MOBE serves as well as ensuring MOBE remains competitive in the market. It requires an intelligent discoverer, curator and integrator of information. This position is more than just a collector of the obvious and requires the ability to find meaning in hard-to-find, complex and ambiguous data, to separate the substantive from the insubstantial, to not get led down blind paths and to be able to identify the most valuable data and information to use. This position requires creativity in what to look for, who to talk to and where to go to find this data and information, as well as and how to interpret and communicate the insights buried within.

Responsibilities:

Market Research

  • Develop market research materials, identifying appropriate and best practice methods
  • Coordinate and manage research projects, including timelines and budgets
  • Support and assist with conducting primary and secondary research to better understand the MOBE end-user population and inform programming decisions, including but not limited to:
    • Partnering with third party vendors to design, field and report findings from qualitative and quantitative research, such as focus groups and surveys
    • Identifying and conducting interviews with relevant customers, subject matter experts and others over the phone and in-person
  • Support the day-to-day management of MOBE's internal consumer insights panel platform
  • Execute statistical analyses, e.g., segmentation analysis, correlation analysis, etc.
  • Transcribe, extract and summarize interviews (live or recorded) to identify the most relevant insights
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery

Competitive and Market Intelligence

  • Gather market intelligence on the size and growth trends in the health and wellness sector and predict market trends to make recommendations on business strategies to capitalize on growth drivers
  • Gather competitive intelligence
  • Work to ensure that MOBE's full set of customer, end-user and competitor insights is activated, interconnected cross-functionally and shaping strategic decisions and implementation choices

General

  • Share insights and results in an easily understandable manner in both written and presentation format
  • Other duties as assigned to help drive MOBE's Vision, fulfill MOBE's Mission, and abide by MOBE's Guiding Principles
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, statistics or associated marketing discipline
  • Analytical thinker who can synthesize and act on complex and ambiguous information, translating qualitative and quantitative findings into actionable insights and recommendations
  • Strong interest and desire to be in the market research field
  • Demonstrated skills and experience conducting primary and secondary research
  • Superior problem-solving and quantitative skills, with ability to grasp complex analytical concepts quickly and thoroughly
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence effectively across all levels and organizational boundaries
  • Experience presenting knowledge visually with professional presentations and other deliverables
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Flexible, cross-functional partner and team member who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with others who are passionate about innovation, strategy, and business creation in service of MOBE’s mission of guiding people to better health and more happiness
  • Has an empathic mindset, entrepreneurial work ethic, strong business acumen, and command of state-of-the-art data acquisition, information synthesis, analysis tools and methods
  • Able to take initiative, act independently and be comfortable under conditions of high uncertainty
  • Must be able to travel (5-10% anticipated)

Preferred:

  • Strongly prefer 2 years relevant experience either through work, internship or client project work
  • At least 2 years recent experience in a healthcare field
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills are highly desired
  • Desire to be a part of an organization looking to transform health culture; interest in being in the health care field
