Location HDT (Florence, KY)  


Responsible for planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity in specific work centers or machines as well as managing inventory levels.



  • Based on the MPS driven demand or Backlog Orders, selects and sequences available jobs to be run on the shop floor – taking into account the DPAS ratings on orders where applicable

  • Meets weekly with Integrated Program Teams to review all pending and recently received demands

  • Manages overall workload of the shop and align resources as needed to maintain balance (where applicable)

  • Drives improvement of current planning systems, functions and daily operations to more effectively meet goals

  • Maintains manufacturing build plans on a daily basis to meet the delivery schedules

  • Creates and maintains the expected completion of each scheduled job

  • Reviews the schedule and ensures the raw materials are available when required

  • Creates and manages a forward-looking plan in ERP system to generate purchase requisitions

  • Monitor material deliveries to support the run schedules

  • Ensures all outside services are planned and monitored

  • Consolidates demand for purchase requisitions

  • Highlights critical parts and/or challenges, which may keep Operations from meeting the delivery schedule

  • Responsible for On-time delivery (OTD) to ensure accurate shipment dates

  • Reviews sales orders for accuracy and completeness (where applicable)

  • Provides priority list to production as needed

  • Coordinates engineering changes into production when appropriate

  • Meets with the Operations team as needed to discuss schedule

  • Reviews capacity requirements needed to achieve the production requirements and schedules

  • Reviews planning processes for continuous improvement opportunities

  • Supports, communicates and defends the mission, values and culture of the company

  • Adheres to all quality and safety standards

  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned

  • Available for limited travel as required
Position Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience


Minimum of 3+ years of production scheduling and/or planning experience preferred with strong background in project material management; ERP experience a must, SAP desired; previous experience in defense procurement highly desired.


  • Must be able to speak, read and understand English
  • Skilled in the use of Excel, Excel Pivot Tables, Power Point, Word, as well as Sharepoint
  • Ability to work a varied schedule and work overtime when necessary
  • Excellent analytical, time managment and project management skills
  • Possesses effective oral and written communication skills
  • Possesses quality orientation and high attention to detail
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, vendors, employees and managers at all levels within the company
  • Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)
