Summary of Position:

The partnership with Youth Villages offers a unique opportunity to become immersed in an evidence-informed program model to serve young people 17-22. The Supervisor is responsible for managing the team and supervising the Specialists in their day-to-day implementation of LifeSet, a model to address the needs of young people who are transitioning out of care and need individualized skill development and support to transition successfully into adulthood, specifically obtaining and maintaining safe and suitable housing, continuing their education, learning independent living skills, obtaining and maintaining employment, building a support system, and remaining free from legal involvement.

Job Description/Responsibility:

  • The Supervisor is primarily responsible for serving as the direct Supervisor for the team of 4 to 5 Specialists.
  • The Supervisor carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations' policies and applicable laws.
  • The Supervisor provides clinical direction to the Specialists based on the therapeutic model.
  • Weekly case review and facilitation of the group supervision process.
  • Overseeing service plan development and ensuring case progress.
  • Have access to an online portal that contains evidence-based and best practices to inform case conceptualization and service plan review.
  • Attends weekly consultation led by the LifeSet Model Expert, a licensed professional.
  • Ensures documentation and contractual requirements are met.
  • Assists with coverage for Specialists when needed (e.g. vacations and sick leaves).
  • Supports staff when attending court and meetings and conducts field supervision to ensure Specialist competency.
  • The young adults have access to 24/7 on call. The Supervisor will be included in an on call rotation and is expected to provide instruction to the Specialist and offer in person support, if needed.
  • The LifeSet Model Expert and Program Director will offer the Supervisor weekly individual development to provide support on professional, operational and clinical goals.
  • The Supervisor will also have access to the Youth Villages' Regional Network Lead who will offer additional support.
  • Manages the professional development of each Specialist by completing a development plan and conducting individual supervision meetings.
  • Involved in the hiring and performance management of Specialists.
  • Providing support and assistance to the team.
  • Professional development and training.
  • Reviewing service receipt and documentation.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work and collaborating with internal and external customers.
  • Work will be in Bergen, Passaic, Hudson, Morris and Essex county.

 
Position Requirements

Job Qualifications/Education:

  • Master’s degree in field of social work, psychology or other directly related human services field with experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 5 years of experience in social services required.
  • Candidates should demonstrate an ability to develop and manage staff, ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and customer service skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and must be insurable under Agency automobile insurance.
