GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Ensure ECS maintains compliance and achieves stated goals with volunteer activities and Non-Federal Match (NFM).

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Implement policies and procedures that ensure OHS and DCF compliance and enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of volunteers.
  2. Work with Director of Community & Corporate Outreach and Director of Family Services to develop and revise resource directories and other pertinent information for distribution.
  3. Create and maintain a database to track communication and progress with all community organizations, civic organizations, and potential businesses.
  4. Coordinate various community partnership projects, events and volunteer activities for all Head Start/Early Head Start programs.
  5. Receive, inventory and distribute donations in a controlled environment at applicable Central office.
  6. Work with Director of Community & Corporate Outreach to implement a plan to raise Non-Federal Match and maintain compliance with NFM regulations.
  7. In collaboration with Co-Outreach Coordinator, ensure all NFM documentation is reviewed for errors and calculated monthly.
  8. Work with QAS and center staff, following up on NFM monitoring to ensure submission of revisions to fiscal on a monthly basis.
  9. Work with centers who are not meeting their monthly NFM goal to develop support plans.
  10. Collaborate with local organizations and community members to increase awareness and coordinate various community partnership projects, volunteer activities and ongoing volunteerism.
  11. Coordinate Holiday Outreach program for distribution of Thanksgiving and Christmas food and gifts.
  12. Serve as a liaison between the community resources and ECS.
  13. Coordinate and implement College and University internship programs within the Head Start/Early Head Start programs.
  14. Prepare and coordinate communication for all non-federal match needs per the instructions of the Director of Community & Corporate Outreach.
  15. “Tell the ECS story” to the public and other stakeholders through a variety of media, by working with ECS children, families, and staff.
  16. Assist with coordinating and communicating with the Policy Council as needed.
  17. All other duties as requested to maintain the success of ECS.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years related experience

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work with other employees and the public in a tactful and diplomatic manner
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and emotional maturity in crisis and in normal situation
  • Commitment to strengthen families but with ultimate commitment to the well being of the child.
  • Ability to perform with little direct supervision
  • Knowledge of applicable safety and abuse-reporting procedures
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products at an intermediate to advanced level
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to plan and organize work as well as maintain records and prepare reports
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in fast-paced environment

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Complete 15 hours of in-service / professional development training each fiscal year (July-June)

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Works in an office setting
  • Local travel to multiple sites is required
  • Minimal night, weekend or out-of-town work possible

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:

  • Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction)
  • Acceptable hearing (with or without correction)
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

About the Organization Episcopal Children's Services is a recognized leader in early childhood education serving more than 50,000 children and their families in seven counties in Northeast Florida - Baker, Bradford, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam and St John's. In addition, ECS recently became the new Head Start/Early Head Start grantee in Marion, Dixie, Gilchrist, Lake, Levy, and Citrus counties and the Early Head Start grantee in Gainesville.
