Essential Functions:

  • Maintain glassware by picking-up, cleaning, washing, sterilizing, and distributing.
  • Provide glassware by ordering, receiving, and inventorying glassware.
  • Keep laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
  • Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Assist with testing and calibrating lab equipment in preparation for specific tasks
  • Document information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.
  • Resolve problems by examining and evaluating data; selecting corrective steps.
  • Support Research & Development team including sample preparation, food production startups and plant line trials.
  • Proactively collaborate and support the team, communicate problems as they arise and identify solutions.
  • Prioritize tasks to meet goals and ensure product quality.
  • Complete projects by assisting project team; attending and participating in group and project meetings.

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Prior warehousing experience.
  • High School Diploma, and additional technical certifications as deemed appropriate.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Degree in science, medical or laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
  • Certification in laboratory technology from a certified college.

Supervisory Responsibility:
None

Work Environment:
Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions in the plant. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Objects weighing 70 pounds or more must be accompanied by a second individual to avoid injury.
