Share Email Opening Title Cloud DevOps Engineer - Enterprise Services  Category Information Technology   Description STR is hiring a Cloud DevOps Engineer to support the STR Enterprise Infrastructure as a subject matter expert and member of a core team to build a Cloud Governance program. The ideal DevOps Engineer will have a strong background in all aspects of IT infrastructure in support of STR’s enterprise across all locations, strong working knowledge of the design, implementation, upgrades and operation of all of STR’s infrastructure. Additionally, the ideal Engineer will have particular strengths in Systems, Cloud Computing, DevSecOps and Project Management. Responsibilities include: Designing, deploying and supporting dynamically scalable, available, fault-tolerant, secure, and reliable applications in the Cloud Engineering secure networking infrastructure in support of cloud applications Assisting with selecting appropriate Cloud services based on requirements and Migrating complex, multi-tier applications onto Cloud Platforms Evaluating, design and implement secure cloud alternatives for engineering applications utilizing appropriate SaaS/PaaS/IaaS and on-premise services Leading, managing, and executing projects across the enterprise infrastructure with accountability for the project outcome through sound project management skills Providing operational expertise as a member of DevOps teams through automation of CI/CD processes Supporting Data Center/Server Room and Cloud operations: System provisioning, monitoring/alerting, network configuration, administration of Linux, Windows, VMWare/vSphere and Cloud computing Ensuring high availability of all critical applications while meeting or exceeding Service Level Agreements (SLA) Troubleshooting complex interactions in storage, servers, networks and databases in collaboration with other systems administrators and technical teams Understanding the resiliency and security requirements to properly manage the infrastructure and the associated data and access controls Estimating usage costs and identify operational cost control mechanisms to meet project needs and budget alignment Documenting all infrastructure, processes and procedures Conducting internal reviews of infrastructure components and recommendations for improvements   Position Requirements Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or better in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related technical field preferred or equivalent experience 10+ years of progressive technical (hands-on) experience related to cloud systems development, implementation and administration AWS Solutions Architect certification, AWS or Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer or equivalent and relevant work experience Experience as a Linux and/or Windows Administrator and Cloud Engineering Working knowledge of AWS GovCloud or AzureGov preferred Good knowledge of at least one scripting language and automation Experience using some subset of GitLab, Docker, Ansible, Kubernetes, Puppet, Chef or other cloud base automation tools and services required Prior experience working on DevSecOps teams Good problem-solving and communication skills Strong project management skills Ability to mentor more junior members Strong team and collaborative mindset Self-starter requiring limited direction and supervision Ability to organize and prioritize numerous customer requests in a fast paced, deadline driven environment Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of system security techniques Experience with network and system security administration, including operating system security configuration and account management best practices for Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, RedHat), Window Server, Windows clients, Microsoft Exchange, and CISCO systems DoDI 8570.01-M IAT/IAM Level-II Compliant Certification (such as Security+ or CISSP) Willing to travel occasionally to other office locations   About the Organization Systems & Technology Research (STR) is a rapidly growing technology company with locations north of Boston, MA, Arlington, VA and near Dayton, OH.
