Shaw/Stewart takes pride in our 130-year history and values the customers who got us here.  We are an established company, positioned and ready for growth.  As a Building Material Salesperson, you are expected to create and maintain lifelong customer relationships.  You will be accountable for prospecting clients, building  and cultivating new and existing relationships, estimating, material takeoffs, job site consults, preconstruction meetings, pre bids and proposal presentations. Our sales staff are bound by shared values and goals and promote the highest quality service to our customers. Your role is critical to the overall success of the organization.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop new business to achieve annual growth objectives
  • Develop and execute business plan
  • Relationship management
  • Achieve annual sales and gross margin budget
  • Execute company sales process

The successful Building Materials Salesperson is a persistent, goal oriented and competitive self-starter. At Shaw/Stewart, your opportunities are limitless!  You excel at consultative sales and are committed to partnering with prospects to uncover the best solutions. The successful candidate thrives in an autonomous environment.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are key.

Minimum Requirements:
 

  • 2+ years in Construction or Building Material Trade or equivalent education
  • 2 + years of sales experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • CRM experience, Salesforce preferred
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Preferred:

  • Project Management
  • Associate degree or higher
