Manufacturing Engineer 

Description
  • Provide manufacturing engineering for equipment, tools, and processes for our plants’ automotive Interiors projects. This equipment and tooling will be primarily automated assembly and plastics joining applications.
  • Equipment and tools to be ready on time according to project requirements; delivered within budgeted cost; quality performance to meet or exceed project requirements; and meets all safty standards.
  • Coordinate equipment installation at plant and support start-up and debug phase. This requires extensive time spent at the manufacturing sites.
  • Provide processing support for existing assembly and welding applications in various plant locations.
  • Provide new equipment specifications and generate equipment requests for quotations; Provide equipment and tooling cost estimates for new business quotations.
  • Fully support the Product Development Teams through regular meeting attendance, personal interaction, commitment to deliverables, and support for team members.
 
Position Requirements

Required:

  • Experience in design and build of manufacturing systems; Experience with assembly and plastics welding equipment, tools, and processes.
  • Strong degree of self-motivation and self direction; Works effectively in a team environment
  • Competent ability with computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project; Effective Problem Solving Skills; Strong organizaton and documentation skills
  • Willingness to travel to support plant launches

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with automotive interiors manufacturing systems, tools, processes, and materials
  • Project and budget management experience
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under demanding situations
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles; Familiarity with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis implementation
 
Education Requirement Bachelors Degree or a Minimum of 5 years experience in an equivalent field
