Patient Services Representative/ Billing Trainee
OVERVIEW: The Patient Services Representative/ Billing Trainee manages the clerical aspects of the outpatient program. They have the primary responsibility for ensuring that patients and guests are greeted and directed to the services that they need in accordance with good customer service and compliant with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act) regulations, as well as training to assist with billing for data entry and posting.

SUPERVISED BY: Office Manager
POSITION STATUS: Regular, full-time, non-exempt/hourly
This position includes a full benefits package
SALARY LEVEL: 14.50 hr.
WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week with the possible assignment to variable shifts:
Lengths: (e.g. 8 hour or 10 hour duration)
Start/End times: (e.g. 7am start, 8am start, 9am start)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB:
- Professionally greet and respond to persons accessing our system in-person or by phone (3 rings).
- Assure a professional efficient workflow, receiving clients, routing them to appropriate staff, and providing necessary support for Health department and Billing staff.
- Assists Billers with data entry, and payment posting.
- CHECK-IN at each patient encounter this includes but is not limited to:
- Provide a welcoming and genuinely warm greeting.
- Patient demographics verification
- Preferred contact details
- Emergency contact details
- Eligibility details (day of encounter)
