Description

Seeking an experienced individual for the Recovery Support Specialist position for a Child Protection Substance Abuse Initiative Program. The PRSS provides encouragement, outreach, personal assistance in the completion of daily living skills, linkage to community supports, transportation, in home services, and advocacy to individuals in the program. They also serve as a positive role model and educator to parents and caregivers. This individual draws upon their life experience to carry a message of hope and recovery to individuals who are experiencing substance use disorder. (Work locations include Camden North and Central Cherry Hill.)

The PRSS maintains relationships with parent/caregiver and families in order to assist individuals in the treatment engagement and retention process, reinforces and ensures that recovery is possible, provides supportive outreach and engagement, and assists in establishing and sustaining a social and physical environment supportive of recovery. This individual enhances identification and participation in the recovery community. They develop a Recovery plan with the parent/caregiver, attend all Family Team Meetings and Focus on Supervision as requested, provide direct client services, complete all documentation of parent/caregiver contact within 24 hours, and maintain appropriate service records according to agency and program guidelines. The PRSS provides weekly supervision alternating between individual and group with a minimum of two individual supervision sessions per month.

 
Position Requirements

BSW with at least two years of continuous recovery or two years of practicing principles of recovery as a family member affected by substance abuse. Current driver's license & good driving record of 3 years. Vehicle with current insurance and registration.
