Currently, Proton has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Network Engineer to join our team in the Raleigh Headquarters. Under the direction of the Technical Operations Manager, the Network Engineer will be responsible for supporting all Level 2 and 3 escalations with a focus on networks and servers. Essential Responsibilities of the Network Engineer: Respond to all network/server related tickets that are escalated from lower tiers. Investigate and implement resolutions for network/server errors. Constant monitoring of Engineering Ticket Que. Frequent configuration of Firewalls, Switches, and Access Points. Analyze existing networks for efficiency bottlenecks and work with teams to eliminate. Ensure highest level of availability for network resources and maximize uptime. Analyze security of client sites to avoid potential breaches or intrusions. Coordinate between vendors and clients to confirm efficient interoperability between Proton's managed systems and third-party managed systems. Communicate in a knowledgeable yet approachable language with client in order to allow understanding of complex terminology and practices by the client.   Position Requirements Preferred Qualifications: At least 8 years direct experience as a Network/Systems Engineer. High School Degree/General Education Degree (GED) preferred. Additional Certifications a plus: CompTIA A+ CompTIA Network+ CompTIA Security+ Cisco CCNA Cisco CCENT Microsoft MCSA/MCSE General networking knowledge a must. Educated on network topology and routing. Expertise with Backup applications and functionality (Datto, VEEAM, Symantec, Crashplan) Seasoned with Ticketing Systems, Local Exchange, and Email/Server Migrations. Strong sense of Firewall Configurations, Cisco, and Networking. Comfortable with VoIP, VLANs, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and VMWare. Direct experience with O365, GSuite, and Active Directory. Familiarity with CCNA and Network+. Expertise with Windows Server (2008, 2012, 2016, 2019) and Microsoft Server (2013, 2016). A PLUS if you have……. Ability to multi-task duties/projects.
