Description

Position Summary:

Primary person responsible for assembling various types of test systems from the ground up per design documentation. Assembly includes mounting components such as PCB's, computers, and various computer related components as well as running and terminating cabling. Mechanical abilities include modifying and fabricating metal or plastic parts as required using a variety of hand tools and automated equipment such as CNC milling machine. Other various duties will be assigned as required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Read, interpret and follow basic drawings, diagrams, engineering sketches, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
  • Assemble test systems from the ground up which includes installing rack components and peripherals, running interconnection cabling and assuring integrity of the total assembly
  • Runs System Self-Test and performs trouble shooting as required
  • Records serial numbers for all components installed in systems and organizes all component documents and manuals
  • Loads system software and maintains systems throughout the manufacturing cycle
  • Utilizes common hand tools needed to manufacture and assemble assemblies and sub-assemblies
  • Reworks and/or repairs assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes
  • Competent in the use of metal working tools such as hand drills, sanders, cutoff saw, drill press, etc. in order to fabricate and/or modify metal and plastic parts
  • Interfaces with engineers, production personnel, and/or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
  • Documents discrepancies and changes by redlining drawings that may be required as noticed during the assembly process
  • Takes initiative on learning/training on new fabricating equipment
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
  • Follows AS9100 procedures and processes

Education/Experience:

  • High school graduate as a minimum

Language Ability:

Must be fluent in English and able to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to rationally deal with problems and provide solutions

Computer Skills:

Must be competent using MS Office Excel, email, and show the ability to learn other software applications that may become required in time
