Trade Compliance Administrator 

Description

Position Purpose:

Extant Aerospace seeks a Trade Compliance Administrator who will be responsible for coordinating requirements pertaining to the company’s export licensing requirements, import requirements and related activities. Individual will report to the Compliance Manager/Empowered Official.

Responsibilities Include:

      • Preparation and administration of applicable EAR and ITAR license applications and Technical Assistance Agreements (TAAs)
  • Coordination of required documentation necessary for import activities; including processing of Manufacturing Affidavits and Customs Clearances for incoming repairs from international customers.
  • Assistance with internal compliance training and monitoring for all relevant employees
  • Provide counsel and guidance to employees concerning the requirements and obligations of export defense articles, technical data, defense services under the ITAR and military, commercial and dual use items under the EAR.
  • Support with addressing import and export concerns in existing programs and new business opportunities
  • Investigate any aspect of a proposed export or temporary export to verify the legality of transactions and the accuracy of the information to be submitted
      • Assistance with Commodity Jurisdictions and classification clarifications as necessary
      • Assistance and research with license exceptions and exemptions as necessary
  • Ensure adherence to the company trade compliance manual including customer and supplier screening, export/import documentation, license management and recordkeeping
  • Administer visitor policy and associated screening activities.
  • Maintain compliance tracking tools for management of licenses, agreements, correspondence, and training
  • Participate in internal compliance audits and correction action activities
  • Investigate matters of potential non-compliance, coordinate a report of findings with management and assist with preparation of voluntary disclosures, in coordination with outside advisors/counsel, as directed
  • 20% of the role is scoped for general contracts administration (not related to trade compliance)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with minimum 5 years direct related work experience in positions responsible for ITAR, EAR export licensing and compliance and foreign trade regulations
  • Background in export/import regulations (ITAR, EAR, FTR), Export Control Reform, Compliance programs, Export jurisdiction and classifications, export licensing and license exemptions/exceptions, Technical Assistance Agreements (TAAs), Commodity Jurisdiction Classification, Technology Control Plans, and international shipping documentation requirements.

  • Sound judgment, professional demeanor, good work ethic and business acumen

Additional skills:

Microsoft Excel and Word skills

Experience with government contracts
