Description

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the assigned manager, the Mortgage Sales Lender Supervisor provides day to day supervision and guidance to the assigned lenders. The incumbent is responsible for the advising of an array of products for mortgage loan applications received through various channels. The incumbent is also responsible for the sales growth and overall performance of the lenders under their supervision in addition to their own personal sales goals. The Mortgage Sales Lender Supervisor provides professional guidance to customers in their search for financing 1-4 family residential mortgage loans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Provide day to day supervision of the assigned lenders, including prompt feedback regarding performance.Maintain distribution of workload and adequate staffing levels to service differing time zones.
  2. Serve as the primary source of information for assigned lenders regarding mortgage lending, procedures, regulations, etc.Provide assistance and problem resolution to lenders and customers.
  3. Set monthly goals (sales, complete applications, funding, training, etc.) and provide on-going coaching to assigned lenders to continually develop sales techniques, consistently achieve goals, build rapport and resolve sales objections. Monitor and guide weekly.
  4. Proactively contact leads and existing customers to recommend differing products based on customer needs and circumstances. Analyze detailed financial and credit data; matching borrower(s) needs with an appropriate loan program and level of risk.
  5. Complete applications received through the various channels and collect required financial/mortgage information to generate creditworthy loan applications and meet personal sales goals.
  6. Maintain a proficient level of knowledge regarding the mortgage industry, mortgage products, lending practices and regulatory guidelines.Know, understand and follow the Arvest lending policy, procedures and underwriting requirements.
  7. Communicate and coordinate information and resources with other supervisors/managers in mortgage production operations and/or mortgage servicing in order to provide borrowers and associates with courteous and efficient service.
  8. Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

  • Formulate and communicate new ideas and suggestions that will improve profitability and efficiency for the bank’s overall operation.
  • Foster and promote the proper company image at all times.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervise 2 or more associates as assigned by the Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Ensure direct reports have completed required compliance training and are adhering to all internal procedures and controls as it relates to bank policy, laws, regulations and Arvest’s BSA/AML Program. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates. The incumbent has the authority and the appropriate influence to make recommendations regarding hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of other associates within the guidelines of the bank’s procedures and guidelines for such change of status events. The incumbent provides training, planning, assigning, and directing work assignments and schedules; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent related experience required.
  • 3 years of mortgage lending experience required.
  • 2 years of sales experience required.
  • Working knowledge of mortgage compliance and regulations required.
  • Current NMLS SAFE Act Registration or the ability to be registered within 30 days required.
  • Completion of CFB 4 preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

  • Must be able to operate personal computer keyboard in order to create reports, schedules and other appropriate documentation

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
