The tools we develop focus on streamlining intelligence analysis through integrated algorithms and software that provide insight into the geopolitical landscape for use in operational intelligence missions around the world. The Role: As the Software Engineer and Enterprise Architect, you will provide leadership and technical expertise, working with the program and technical leadership to manage a complex software engineering system as we develop the next generation of machine learning tools and methods to improve analysis and decision-making for our DoD and intelligence community customers. You will be responsible for receiving requirements from the government and Principal Investigator, scoping the design and software architecture, managing the development of the software solution, and leading timely, successful deliveries of products to the customer. You will be responsible for building the software infrastructure to clean, ingest, and expose datasets and algorithms to both developers and end users. You will collaborate across multi-disciplined teams in order to consider and define all facets of the system. You will principally work onsite at our government customer location, with the opportunity for travel to other stakeholder sites to engage with end users, demonstrate prototypes, and integrate analytics into customer systems. If you would like to help intelligence and defense analysts keep pace with technology-driven innovation, then this role is for you!   Position Requirements Who you are: Active Top Secret (TS) SCI w/ Poly An advanced degree in a scientific or engineering field, such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering Experience with software development best practices and tools Proficiency with scientific programming languages, and demonstrated proficiency in Python Experienced in developing target architectures and architecture road maps Experience with database management and common query syntax Motivated collaborator and excellent communicator of ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences Even better: Track record of architecting, developing, deploying, or maintaining complex software systems Demonstrated experience as a team lead or technical lead on a project Experience with managing large and complex data sets Familiarity with machine learning or statistical modeling techniques   About the Organization Systems & Technology Research (STR) is a rapidly growing technology company with locations north of Boston, MA, Arlington, VA and near Dayton, OH.
