Job Summary:
StarMed Family & Urgent Care is looking for an experienced Medical Scheduler. Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated, outgoing individual who always represents the company with discretion, professionalism, and a positive attitude! Our ideal candidate has experience with scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, triaging calls, and scheduling/rescheduling appointments for multiple locations. This position is the first point of contact in our practice. Our goal is to provide exceptional patient service, along with professional enthusiasm to every person that calls our clinic.

Responsibilities:
• Answers the telephone for multiple locations in a professional and courteous manner
• Responsible for triaging (sorting/prioritizing) patient telephone calls to ensure their request gets routed to the appropriate staff members
• Schedules new and return appointments; explains registration process and give directions to new patients; may explain procedure preparation to patients
• Reschedules appointments as needed
• Processes incoming and outgoing referrals in a timely fashion and in accordance to practice policies and procedures
• Reviews and checks patients' insurance eligibility
• Verifies current patient demographic and insurance information; reminds patient to bring insurance card and photo id to appointment
• Verifies co-payment amount, collects and records co-payment
• Completes tasks in eClinicalWorks as appropriate
• Follows end of day procedures for appointments and reconciliation
• Maintains daily logs as required
• Provides coverage at other clinics when/if necessary
• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to multi-task (i.e. answer multiple phone lines)

• Comfortable collecting money
• Ability to follow direction
• Team player but also comfortable working independently
• Fast learner

Experience:
• 2+ years of experience working in a medical office
• Experience working within a Family & Urgent Care is a plus
• eClinicalWorks experience is a plus
• Ability to speak Spanish is a plus
