Job Summary:

StarMed Family & Urgent Care is looking for someone that is detail oriented, dependable, a team player, and a quick learner. Our goal is to provide exceptional patient service, along with professional enthusiasm to every person that enters our clinic.


  • Welcomes every patient with a smile
  • Check patients in & out
  • Patient Intake
  • Reviews and checks patients' insurance eligibility
  • Verifies current patient demographic and insurance information; reminds patient to bring insurance card and photo id to appointment
  • Verifies co-payment amount, collects and records co-payment
  • Answers the telephone in a professional and courteous manner
  • Responsible for triaging (sorting/prioritizing) patient telephone calls to ensure that patients request gets routed to the appropriate staff members
  • Schedule new and returning appointments; explains registration process and give directions to new patients; may explain procedure preparation to patients
  • Reschedules appointments as needed
  • Referral Management: Processes incoming and outgoing referrals in a timely fashion and in accordance to practice policies and procedures
  • Electronic Medical Records Management
  • Completes tasks in eClinicalWorks as appropriate
  • Follows end of day procedures for appointments and reconciliation
  • Maintains daily logs as required
  • Maintain cleanliness of building
  • Follow clinic procedures and protocols
  • Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements

  • Ability to appropriately multitask, to think dynamically, and to problem solve
  • Ability to communicate assertively and effectively
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to use computers quickly, accurately and effectively
  • Ability to effectively utilize efficient workflow methods
  • Ability to follow direction


  • 2-5 years of experience working in a medical office
  • Experience working within a Family or Urgent Care practice is a plus
  • eClinicalWorks experience is a plus
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus
