Quality Improvement Coordinator 


What are we looking for in a Quality Improvement Coordinator?

The Quality Improvement (QI) Coordinator is responsible for managing Comprehensive Healthcare’s agency-wide quality improvement program. The QI Coordinator organizes the QI process, including the collection, analysis, and interpretation of the data, and develops and presents reports and project summaries regarding QI initiatives. The QI Coordinator will also serve on the Quality Improvement Board (QIB) to coordinate QI activities and support QIB committees with their projects. This role requires strong analytical and mathematical skills, a solid clinical background, and a solutions-oriented mindset. Knowledge of QI processes and tools—such as PDSA, FMEA, and root cause analyses—is required for this role. The QI Coordinator will collaborate with our Utilization Management and Information Services departments regularly, so excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential.

QI Coordinator duties may include:

  • collecting, interpreting, and reporting on data to support QI processes
  • evaluating variance, service, & other data to identify QI opportunities and risk management issues, including identifying trends, potential contributing factors, and corrective actions
  • assisting teams in the design & implementation of rapid cycle improvement projects and collects & evaluates outcome data
  • acting as liaison between Comprehensive teams and QIB to integrate quality improvement principles & practices throughout the organization
  • communicating QI concepts and program information throughout the agency, including providing training to staff and new employees
  • collaborating with the UM Coordinator on chart reviews and data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • assisting with the Joint Commission self-assessment survey process for QI standards and planning improvements to address survey findings
Position Requirements

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, nursing, health administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Four years of relevant work experience in a medical or behavioral health setting, preferably in a managed care environment. Demonstrated understanding of quality improvement tools & techniques and strong project management skills.
