Job Description Summary

The Warehouse Inventory Clerk is responsible for the overall care of the merchandise received and stored in the warehouse.  Receiving duties may include weighing, measuring and checking in received company products, supplies, and equipment for keeping relevant records. You will also receive, store and issue merchandise receipts from the ERP database. Duties and responsibilities focus on all aspects of receiving and inventory movement including stocking, re-stocking and accounting for every received and to-be received item stored in the warehouse.  For Inventory duties, you will maintain and report supply and inventory levels for materials and products in the Distribution Center, may perform audits in areas of the Distribution Center, researches inventory discrepancies and irregularities, reconciles errors, and documents inventory findings as appropriate, identifies inventory shortages and reports findings. The clerk will also plan for the incoming and outgoing transportation of company products. This position entails preparation of international and domestic shipping documents, providing customer service to both vendor partners and client partners related to shipping activities, monitoring the status of shipments, prepare incoming freight quotes and serves in an administrative role as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reports directly to the most Senior Staff in the Warehouse Operations.
• Analyzes inventory-related statistics to identify problems and correct inventory variances. researches the issue to determine which information will illustrate where, when, how, and why the problem is occurring; gathers the appropriate data; and generates reports for management.
• Reviews variance recounts from row counts and special request cycle counts to determine inventory corrective actions.
• Coordinates error/discrepancy gathering, recording, and reporting.
• Reviews operational SOPs to assist in audit/observation completion and accuracy; offer inputs or recommendations for improvements in SOPs.
• Designs, updates, and maintains inventory reports using spreadsheet/database software such as Excel, Access and ACCtivate. Updates report formats as needed.
• Partners throughout Innex network with team members to determine best practices.
• Conducts special studies as assigned. Identifies information needs, coordinates research and development.
• Assists with the yearly physical reconciliation process and prepares appropriate reports for management review.
• Will perform audits in areas of the Distribution Center.
• Updating pre-existing SKUs when a change in packaging occurs.
• Analyzes and prepares standardized and ad hoc reports.
• Prepares freight quotations.
• Prioritizes work orders based on varying shipping cut-off windows and schedules pick-ups of outbound/inbound shipments.
• Creates bill of ladings and small parcel shipping labels and prepares international and domestic documents such as, but not limited to commercial invoices, shipper's letters of instructions, details packing lists, etc.
• Determines method of shipment utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates.
• Ensure items are properly packed and labeled.
• Make sure that items are loaded into shipment vehicle/carriers in a safe and timely manner.
• Contact carrier representatives to issue instructions for shipping and/or delivery of merchandise.
• Constant communication with pertinent departments daily for any shipping concerns, issues or queries.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Replenish pick areas identified by replenishment reports and various request for needed merchandise.
• Examine and unpack / unload incoming shipments.  Record shortages and document rejected items in the required timeframes.
• Unloading and stocking of incoming merchandise and loading of outbound trailers.
• Assist in picking and packing department as needed.
• Keep warehouse in clean and organized fashion always.
• Perform and complete other related request, administrative and clerical responsibilities and projects as assigned/necessary.

 
Position Requirements

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
• AA Degree.  Vocational Training Certificate in Inventory Management or Shipping and Logistics related field may be considered
• 3 to 5 years of experience in an Inventory / Shipping role in a manufacturing or distribution environment
• Working knowledge of PC’s, including QuickBooks, Acctivate, Word, Excel, FedEx Ship Manager, and UPS Worldship
• Must be able to type 40+ wpm
• RF Scanner (Technology)
