Description

Position summary

Administers human resources policies, procedures, and programs. Collects and analyzes HR data, and makes recommendations to executive management. Is familiar with standard HR concepts, practices, and procedures. Prepares internal employee communications regarding benefits, company policies, training, and wellness programs. Relies on independent judgment, creativity and latitude to plan and accomplish goals. Manages HR and Employee Experience staff.

Benefits Management

  • Benefits related invoice reconciliation
  • Benefits Analysis
  • Manages benefit renewals and open enrollment process
  • Work with third party consultants regarding benefits, as applicable
  • Set strategy for employee benefit offerings
  • Answer employee questions regarding benefits, legal matters, interpersonal issues, etc.
  • Process employee handbook updates - obtain handbook acknowledgements
  • Supervise HR Administrator and field any escalated issues
  • Provide data to auditors for benefit audits (401K/Profit Sharing Plan and ESOP)

Employee Engagement, Welfare and Wellness

  • Determine, drive, and coordinate company wellness program
  • Approve/coordinate employee appreciation events
  • Evaluate employee engagement
  • Make recommendations to management team regarding initiatives to drive employee engagement and market PH as an employer to current employees

Resourcing

  • Maintain collegiate sales and intern recruiting and hiring program
  • Coordinate and participate in career fairs
  • Approve job postings
  • Work with management team to determine resourcing needs and make recommendations
  • Perform candidate screenings (resume review, phone interviews, etc.)
  • Work with temporary staffing agencies as needed
  • Supervise overall recruiting administration process
  • Coordinate new hire and employee exit process

Training

  • Conduct New Hire Training
  • Coordinate with managers when refresher training is needed
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate on and off site training
  • Oversee company learning management system

Team Management and Performance Development

  • Manage the workload and supervise individuals assigned to the Employee Experience Team (including Office Admin, HR, and Quality Admin staff)
  • Conduct performance management/development activities and annual reviews for your direct reports
  • Assist management team on performance management and annual review process
  • Assist in the management of the Palmer Holland Team, coach managers with regards to individual performance issues, etc.
  • Provide resourcing support as needed to other PH departments by adjusting internal workloads

Position Requirements

Education:

  • Four year Bachelor Degree in the business field.
    • Human Resources degree preferred

 

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience
    • Management/Supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience with benefits administration and analysis required
  • Experience with HR analytics required
  • Experience with regards to self-funded health insurance plans, captives, payroll/compensation management, and/or ESOP companies preferred

 

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Intermediate level of expertise in MS Office and Contact Management Software
  • Excellent analytical skills; Intermediate to Advanced level of expertise in Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to maintain professional conduct that exemplifies the corporate policies at all times, particularly when interacting directly with internal and external customers
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion
  • Detail oriented with strong, accurate clerical skills
  • Proficient at multi-tasking
  • Proactive problem solver
  • Highly motivated
