Job Overview/Summary
The Senior Accountant of the US Operations Group partners with various business units (Glad, Kingsford, Litter, Food, and Brita) to provide accounting oversight and support. As the Senior Accountant within the US Operations Group, this position is involved in various aspects of the monthly and quarterly accounting close processes as well as accounting and reporting for the Company’s Glad Joint Venture. The incumbent provides expertise on accounting matters impacting reporting as well as strategic business decisions through demonstrating influencing skills with other business partners in the U.S.
Key Responsibilities
- Involved in execution of monthly and quarterly close processes for domestic business units.
- Provide technical support (US GAAP accounting guidance) to business partners including the Strategic Business Unit Finance teams and the Product Supply Finance organization.
- Involved in accounting and reporting surrounding the Glad Joint Venture.
- Provide support to internal and external audit activities including preparation and review of audit schedules.
- Other ad hoc requests
Key Skills, Abilities and Experience Required
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- A mix of public and industry experience is preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial statements and how to apply it efficiently
- Strong project management skills
- Strong analytical skills, with ability to prioritize
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in teams and with cross functional partners
- Strong understanding of SAP and the financial close processes
- Strong process improvement mindset
Education Level/Degree:
- BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
- CPA certification, strongly preferred
