Position Summary:

As the Human Resources Assistant at Edgewood Tahoe, you are responsible for the administrative support of the day-to-day Human Resource operations and provide assistance, as well as facilitate the HR processes. Your role performs duties at a professional level and works closely with the HR Team in some or all of the following functional areas: administrative, recruiting/employment, on-boarding, training, performance management, benefits administration, employee relations, and policy implementation. Must practice and act as an advocate for both team members and the Edgewood business.

Essential Functions:

  • Act as the first point of contact for all HR related inquiries and distributes the information appropriately.
  • Answer phones, emails, etc. for the HR department.
  • Interact with and supplies information to job applicants, Team Members, and department heads.
  • Perform HRIS data entry and Team Member file maintenance.
  • Respond to reference checks and verifications of employment status.
  • Coordinate all internal HR communication through flyers, boards, Team Member portal, television, etc. including translation from English to Spanish
  • Assist Team Members and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Provide clerical and operational support to Human Resource team.
  • Assist with recruitment and interview process. Track status of candidates in HR system and communicate accordingly.
  • Assist with on-boarding process, to include: I-9 documentation, employment verification and background checks.
  • Assist with HR projects.
  • Assist with new Team Member orientations.
  • Maintain confidential Team Member information.
  • Good working knowledge of Desktop OS and the Ascentis HR System, including reporting functions.

Position Requirements

Qualifications / Special Skills:

  • At least one year of work experience in a clerical support position or in a HR role.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • Multi-tasking ability required.
  • Previous HR experience preferred.
  • Guest service background at a hotel/resort property preferred.
  • Currently have, or be pursuing either a bachelor’s or associate degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent education a plus.
  • Previous experience and proficient with Ascentis or comparable Human Capital Management System preferred.
  • Available to work varied shifts when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
