The Sr. Manager, People Operations reports into the Director, Human Resources, has a current staff of two and is responsible for managing activities to support the Operational Excellence of the HR department. This is a critical role for Mizuho OSI as we have an unwavering focus on Employee Experience in everything we do. Driven by Operational Excellence and providing the best Employee Experience possible, the Essential Functions of this role include:

  • Ensuring excellent Employee Experience through successful delivery of HR services to users throughout the organization.
    • Establish procedures to ensure all internal customers are assisted appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Analyzing and directing all function-related activities within the scope of the HRIS, including Applicant Tracking, Compensation, Performance and Goal Management, and Onboarding.
    • Promotes proactive approaches using the company's HRIS to solve business needs/problems, while also enhancing the understanding and acceptance of the HRIS capabilities.
    • Fosters and maintains positive relationships with HR constituents and customer base; serves as an interface between internal/external customers and functional team members to ensure effective definition of and delivery of HRIS applications.
    • Follows strict audit plan to ensure data integrity.
  • Support HR Programs through system set up and functionality of associated tools.
    • Own continuous improvement of New Hire Orientation, drive annual programs such as Focal, Open Enrollment, and other HR Programs by providing operational excellence on back-end support.
  • Oversee the Benefits, worker’s compensation, Leave of Absence, and Safety functions that are responsible for employees’ information, welfare, safety, and training.
    • Oversee the Benefits Open Enrollment activities such as the Health Fair event, ensuring all applicable information is communicated to all employees in a timely and effective manner.
    • Manage the company’s workers’ compensation program to proactively and positively interact with injured employees, completing reporting requirements. As well as managing the return to work program through the Interactive Process to document appropriate accommodation to work restrictions, follow-ups, etc.
    • Manage all recordable and reportable claims on the OSHA log and generate a report to meet posting requirements as well as analytics to address safety concerns.
    • Manage the leave processes including every aspect of leave administration, ensuring it meets both the company policies, procedures, and federal and state legal obligations. Interact with management regarding employee’s request for leave and or returning back to work from a leave.
    • Perform ergonomic evaluations and assist in conducting and/or facilitating evaluations within the office and production areas.
  • Manage People Operations Team by providing overall prioritization of work assignments and management of functional team resources and their activities.
    • Participates in the preparation of staff development plans for each functional associate.
    • Assesses the skills and skill levels necessary to achieve work objectives.
Position Requirements

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 or related software.


Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of human resource, HRIS or related experience with two to four years' supervisory experience.
  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or human resources, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
