POSITION OVERVIEW


The role of the HR Business Partner (HRBP) is to make sure human resource policies and procedures fit the needs, goals, and aims of the business objectives throughout the organization. This position reports to the Director, Human Resources, and formulates partnerships to deliver value-added service to management and employees to deliver on the overall People Strategy. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit.

Driven by the desire to help people realize their full potential, the Essential Functions of this role include:

  • Provide support and guidance to managers on all HR related issues, including but not limited to hiring, terminations, leaves of absence, and disciplinary issues. Provides necessary training, coaching, and expectations to all levels of management.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts and documents effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of programs related to recruitment, development, and retention of employees.
  • Participates in outlining terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit structures, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
  • Participates in the evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

 

 
Position Requirements

What you will need to be successful in this role:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 or related software.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of Human Resources experience, including resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
