JOB SUMMARY

The overriding business objective for the Integration Engineer 4 will be to lead and support the integration and test activities of innovative aircraft Power Systems. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Develop Innovative Power Systems. The successful Integration Engineer 4 will leverage their education and experience to integrate and verify new technology electrical power systems which offer substantial benefits in weight, cost, and/or reliability over traditional approaches. The Engineer will perform detailed design, analysis, testing, and draft the documentation required to successfully launch new products. Engineering technicians, mechanical engineers, and program managers will be provided as support in a team approach. The successful Integration Engineer will leverage skills to troubleshoot AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC power conversion, PCB layout, EMI filtering, and power distribution systems. The successful Integration Engineer will have well-rounded skills including schematic design, PCB layout, software development, test equipment usage and control, and mechanical aptitude, in order to develop the tools and procedures to integrate and verify Astronics innovative power systems. We are looking for high performance engineers with a desire to learn power system product and test equipment development. It is expected within 3 months of hire, the Integration Engineer will be contributing to the successful development or qualification of an aircraft power product. Within 12 months, it is expected that they will be supporting integration and test activities for multiple projects, with the help of lesser experienced Integration Engineers and technicians.

Mentorship and Learning. The Integration Engineer will develop a collaborative relationship with the systems engineering staff at Astronics to align integration and test activities to the system and project goals. The Integration Engineer will develop a collaborative relationship with less experienced integration and test engineering staff at Astronics to foster their growth, and provide technical guidance and mentorship. Evidence of success will be alignment of integration and test activities with the specifications and schedule, allowing meeting the Astronics’ schedule to the customer’s satisfaction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • Requires bachelor’s degree in engineering (prefer electrical engineering) and at least 8 years related experience, specifically in aerospace.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a US Person (under ITAR rules) to be eligible.
  • An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a drug test and background check, and applicants who do not successfully pass both the drug test and background check will not be considered for employment.
