Dockhands and Forklift Drivers Needed at Landings Harbor Marina! – WILL TRAIN!

Dockhands perform a variety of tasks in support of boaters and residents including fueling, hosting and washing boats and assisting with loading and unloading equipment, pulling and tying lines and a variety of other tasks related to marina operations.

Marina forklift operators are responsible for operation of the marina (large capacity) forklift in moving boats in and out of the racks and water.

Primary Duties include:

  • Performs a wide variety of customer service tasks including fueling boats, hoisting boats, washing boats and assisting in loading/unloading equipment from boats. 
  • Assists boaters with docking by pulling and tying lines. 
  • Performs routine maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, removing trash, cleaning, plumbing, painting, light electrical, dock repair and pressure-washing docks/buildings. 
  • Completes regularly scheduled tasks. 
  • Performs sales transactions using a cash register system.  
  • Acts as a forklift operator-in-training, learning and practicing equipment operation under the direction of the Head Dockhand 
  • Moves boats in and out of the water and racks to ensure resident boat availability as forklift proficiency is established. 
  • Operates dredge equipment to ensure appropriate water depth for boaters. 
  • Performs regular maintenance on marina equipment. 
  • Assists in performing sales of bait, fuel, and oil. 
  • Interacts with customers on a variety of boating related topics

Position Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule including holidays and weekends.
  • Ability to swim
  • Ability to obtain CPR and AED certification
