We have an exclusive four step training program in place that has started with every experience level and coached them to full experienced plumber. Normally this process takes 3-4 years but we have seen it done in as little as 2.
Step One: Depending on your current experience level you may bypass this stage but for our beginning apprentices you will work in our warehouse as a delivery driver, tool repair, unit tear down, cleaning and organizing trucks, learning parts and inventory and other support duties for about 2 - 12 months.
Step Two: In the field you will get an opportunity to learn the underground plumbing systems for drain and water service repair and replacement. You will also learn above ground plumbing systems in construction repair and remodeling. As an assistant in these areas you begin to learn the basic systems and skills essential to becoming an experienced plumber. Normally 6 - 18 months depending your skills.
Step Three: Several options at this time. You could be promoted to construction plumber or excavation operator or you could begin training with an experienced service plumber. As a service plumber in training you would ride along and assist an experienced plumber to learn the skills necessary for service work. You will may also be part of the drain cleaning team and begin to run solo calls out of a truck provided.
Step Four: As a service plumber you would be running calls by yourself out of a fully stocked truck provided for you. You always have an experienced group of people to call for help and support as you continue to develop your skills and confidence.
Overtime and on call availability will be required in various steps of this program depending on the step and path you choose.
During this time you will be asked to participate in a trade school. One evening per week for 3 hours for 3 -4 years during the school year. We will pay for the schooling, you donate the time.
