The Role

We are looking for an accomplished engineer with strong hands on technical experience and deep knowledge in one or more areas of distributed systems and enterprise web delivery platforms including cloud based systems, ideally AWS.  As a key member of our DevOps team, you will help build and improve the products and services that our customers use every day.  

You will make a mark on the business, your team and your career by leading a cloud migration effort and evolving our open source systems to scale and deliver from the cloud.

Day in the life of a DevOps Linux Engineer

Our Agile Team collaborates to meet sprint commitments delivering impactful results to our customers. Utilizing your strong technical background and innovative thinking, you will help support an environment of continuous learning and product improvement.  In partnership with the Software Engineering team, we will deliver timely deployments of high quality products that our customers have come to expect.  

Preferred Qualities and Experience

  • 3+ years of software engineering, devops or system admin experience for web based systems
  • Agility and technical capability to solve problems - people call on you to fix things
  • Ability to write code to migrate data and create scalable solutions
  • Welcomes feedback and seeks continuous improvement opportunities
  • Fosters an environment for healthy collaboration

Technologies

  • Linux operating system
  • AWS (or Google Cloud)
  • Automation/scripting - especially Jenkins
  • Python, Node.js, PHP
  • Git, BitBucket, Github
  • Monitoring and logging tools
  • Configuration management tools such as: Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
  • SQL relational databases
  • IP networking, VPN's, DNS, load balancing and firewalls
