POSITION SUMMARY: BASIC FUNCTION

 

The Sr. Manager of IT Assurance manages the development, deployment and execution of controls and defenses to ensure the security and risk mitigation of company infrastructure technology and information systems. Identifies goals, objectives, and metrics; analyzes business needs and priorities for protection of critical systems. Implements and monitors operational policies and appropriate standards and criteria for hardware, software, email and web firewall, access verification, encryption, Audit and Compliance requirements. Manages an internal team and outsourced services that monitors systems for cybersecurity vulnerabilities, threats, and events, oversees security incident response planning, leads vulnerability audits and forensic investigations. Evaluates potential business impacts from security breaches and provides strategic and tactical guidance to business decision-makers. Develops and executes security systems compliance policies and procedures. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Serves as the liaison between the Data Center IT Assurance, IT and Business units and the Group Information Security Services, Group Governance, Risk and Compliance and Group Security Operations Center departments.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources (internal and external) to meet schedules and goals.
  • Provides guidance to team within the latitude of established company policies.
  • Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).
  • Shares and discusses company products and services both internally and externally with employees, management, auditors, vendors, clients, etc.
  • Manages a team that analyzes and detects security incidents and problems.
  • Manages a team that is responsible for all Global Risk and Compliance yearly activities and annual audits.
  • Partners with Global Risk and Compliance, Information Security Services and SOC Group entities to ensure policies are followed.
  • Briefs and educates senior management and employees on policy, policy adherence, security best practices and the current corporate security posture.
  • Manages a team that develops partitioning methodologies, policies, and processes to ensure that Information Technology systems remain inviolate and are maintained in maximum accordance with policy and the law.
  • Ensures IT architectures, practices, policies, and plans align with company's business goals and all applicable regulations and security best practices.
  • Works with other architects to gain consensus for implementation of security practices that enhance the ability to work while minimizing the impact on productivity and/or capability.
  • Manages risks associated with information and IT assets by developing and documenting appropriate standards, practices, and security policies.
  • Accountable to ensure that the current information security environment is fully documented.
  • Evaluates new technologies while observing the various constraints such as cost, time frame and security.
  • Informs and advises management on the current and expected information security posture.
  • Manages team that generates products such as sketches, models, an early user guide, and prototypes to keep the user and the engineers constantly up to date and in agreement on the system to be provided as it is evolving.
  • Interfaces with the design and implementation engineers and architects, for all new Data Center Construction and new service deployments to ensure security policies and posture is followed.
  • Partners with purchasing department to source materials and negotiates with vendors for best pricing on projects and overall basis.
  • Manages implementation and deployment of advanced and basic security systems as per design.
  • Responsible for Corporate Group, Data Center Leadership and ISSC (Information Security Steering Committee) reports and KPIs.
  • Manages, perhaps through supervisors, the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods, and staffing.

  • Ability to follow processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Ability to act as advisor to team to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.
  • Ability to develop and administer schedules, performance requirements and potentially budget responsibilities.
  • Ability to interact with team members, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company.
  • Ability to lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team.
  • Ability to articulate how the company makes business decisions regarding its Information Systems.

  • Problem solving, with the ability to mentor and work with other team members to resolve issues then focus on establishing long term solutions rather than quick fixes
  • Knowledge of the business for which the security architecture is being developed
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills - leadership, collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IT governance, risk, compliance, and secure operations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering.
  • Detailed project and program management planning and organizational skills, as well as time management and prioritization capabilities.
  • Customer service orientation.
