We are seeking a Senior LHA C4ISR SME to join our team in Alexandria, VA. The ideal candidate will:

  • Provide support to PMS377 client developing and maintaining U.S. Navy amphibious ship C4ISR systems / subsystems.
  • Review shipbuilder work packages, drawings, Initial Change Proposals (ICP), Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), waterfront changes, work items, and participate in design reviews.
  • Be able to assess, evaluate and provide recommendations related to Combat Systems test event results that may affect systems’ operation.
  • Manage Block Diagram for C4ISR on LHA(R) class ship. Analyze Work Specifications, Technical Data Packages, Ship Change Documents, and Change Proposals for accuracy, and provide associated contract drawing corrections.
  • Review Combat Systems initial designs, developments, and analysis of new ships and/or ship systems.
  • Assist in development of designs for current and conceptualized ships, systems, and equipment. Evaluate designs for feasibility.
  • Assess compliance with naval regulatory and design standards.
  • Interface with stakeholders and cross functional teams to ensure necessary resources are available for ship/system.
  • Review qualification test procedures and participates in qualification testing and trials.
  • Support production design and construction oversight and review processes to ensure compliance with product specifications.
  • Research new technology and/or development tools to remain informed of current technology.
  • Maintain communications with SUPSHIP, NAVAIR, SPAWAR and other commands, to enhance the C4I linkage to other ship class systems including laboratories and support contractors in resolving technical issues impacting (or have potential to impact) the design or performance of the ship class.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with U.S. Navy Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR)/Combat System (CS) .
  • Experience working with Navy ship and ship system design principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with reviewing and evaluation of proposed C4ISR ICPs, ECPs and SHIPALTs to determine technical and programmatic impact and recommended course of actions on shipbuilding systems engineering issues.
  • Experience working with applicable regulatory, commercial, and military standards and classification society rules desired.
  • In-depth knowledge of shipbuilding (acquisition, design, production, test and trials) is required.
  • Applicant must have excellent oral and written communications and be capable of productive and efficient work with limited or no supervision.
  • Must be able to present complex ideas and create presentations for senior military and civilian leaders.
  • Applicant must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
  • AutoCAD proficiency. 
  • Candidate should have an active secret clearance for this position.
