Design Industrial Engineer

DUTIES: Production Planning and resources allocation to meet delivery, quality and safety requirements. Manage Production and Fabrication personnel. Establish corrective actions to deliver on customer requirements. Establish standard operating procedures for new and existing part numbers. Opportunity Improvements in existing or new processes. Delegate workload and assigning work task. Perform crew training and set expectations and targets. Track key performance indicators and report to senior management. Track operating costs and adjust accordingly to maximize profits. Ensure safety absolutes are met across the plant. Perform interviews during recruiting stages to fill in Production of Fabrication positions. Work closely with departments within the plant to assist or coordinate a variety of projects. Apply continuous improvement principles to improve productivity. Reevaluate processes to improve output and improve OTIF. Conduct training with operators and production workers to implement best practices in Plastic Excursion. Create SOPs for different manufacturing equipment and lead training on how to operate the equipment. Perform daily troubleshooting in the Extrusion and Fabrication areas. Keep direct communication with Lead Operators on all three shifts. Perform extrusion training with operators. Lead and supervise machine set ups and Changeovers. Design new work cells in the Fabrication area and on the Production flood. Work closely with Tool Shop personnel to perform necessary tool modifications for existing products due to quality requirements driven by customer or to achieve productivity goals. Lead and supervise tooling pilot runs to ensure complete transition of development projects into production ready processes that meet customer expectations. Identify material selections for cost-effective substitutions that meet customer expectations through revising BOMs and Routings. Handle customer complaints. Lead new tooling development process for project assigned using hands-on approach to meet customer expectation with quality and on time delivery of samples. Coordinate the tooling needs for new products with the VP of Engineering. Process Engineers and others involved in producing first article samples. Supervise the tool making activities in the machine shop, ensuring that the tools produced by the machine shop can meet the design criteria and are up to the company's high standard for design and workmanship. Troubleshoot process difficulties on daily basis and support Production. Work with VP of Engineering and Production to coordinate a timely response to the need for rebuilding tooling or handling other special tooling needs that cannot be planned for in advance. Work on continual improvement projects to improve efficiencies and reduce scrap.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical).
Five (5) years of required Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related experience must include:
Extrusion for profiles, tubing and films.
Die Design and Extrusion Process Development.
Acrylics, PC, ABS, RPVC, FPVC, HDPE, TPU's and PP.
CAD, CAM and Programming.
Machining experience and experience with limitations in EDM and conventional machining such as CNCs and Bridgeport.
ERP systems and applying manufacturing principles such as BOM and Router, Inventory Balancing and Purchasing.
Supervising and Managing Production Crews.
Reading and Developing Manufacturing Prints and understand the Extrusion Limitations.
Designing Work Calls to optimize Work Flow.
Scheduling and Adjusting workforce and equipment to balance production requirements.
Delegating workload and assigning tasks to meet production requirements.
Lead Crew trainings and process improvement.
10% travel to GA.
