Position Facilities Specialist  

The Landings Association has an immediate opening for a Facilities Specialist in our Public Works department. This position is part of the team that maintains, repairs, and improves all infrastructure, equipment, and grounds owned and operated by The Landings Association. Maintenance levels provided are integral to our customers' satisfaction as well as to maintaining property values, promoting home sales and supporting the marketing of the community.
The Facilities Specialist position ensures that the highest quality maintenance and repairs are performed while meeting strict compliance and safety standards. The Facilities Specialists use technical expertise and experience to perform maintenance and improvement of the buildings, signs, mailboxes and other structures owned and provided by The Landings Association.

Primary Duties include:

  • Constructs, repairs and paints mailboxes, signs and other structures for The Landings community
  • Provides carpentry and minor facility repairs to all TLA buildings
  • Assists with the repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance of security gates and cameras
  • Maintenance and care of community grounds and parks

Position Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Intermediate level of knowledge and skill with the following hand and power tools: saws (band, radial, arm, miter, reciprocating, jig and skill), drills, hammer, screwdrivers, plunger, auger, snake, pressure washer, paint sprayer, router and Carvewright carving machine
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Strong team skills.
  • Knowledge of proper safety practices for job-related equipment.
  • Ability to schedule work and resolve problems.
  • Mechanical inclination for on-the-job troubleshooting. Must have the following additional skills and abilities: listening, conflict resolution, detail-oriented, goal-oriented, initiative.

Minimum Job requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of applicable work experience in carpentry, building maintenance and/or commercial janitorial service
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and on call in emergency situations as needed
  • A valid driver’s license with insurability at normal risk rates
  • High school diploma or equivalent
