Valley Community Services Board serves as the single point of entry into publicly funded mental health, developmental, and substance use disorder services for these localities.

Description

Valley Community Services Board is seeking a dynamic individual to provide Substance Use Case Management services to adults in the Substance Use Outpatient programs.  The Case Manager provides a wide-range of ongoing community substance abuse case management to individuals with an Axis I substance related disorder within the Staunton/Waynesboro, Augusta, and Highland County catchment areas. Services include but are not limited to: assessment and treatment planning, linking and coordinating internal and external services and supports, monitoring, crisis intervention, and screening for admission to residential programs and discharge planning. The Case Manager is responsible for carrying out client treatment plans developed from initial and ongoing assessment and clinical staffing and documenting to Medicaid and licensure standards and adhering to professional standards of ethical treatment. The Case Manager adheres to confidentiality guidelines, respects integrity, and protects the rights and welfare of individuals and is expected to facilitate positive consumer and peer relationships based on courtesy, compassion, and respect. 

 
Position Requirements

Candidates must be a Qualified Mental Health Professional - Adult (QMHP-A) through the Virginia Board of Counseling, or meet the criteria to purse QMHP-A status with a bachelors degree in a human services field and at least one year of experience in working with the substance using population.  Employee must hold a valid Virginia driver's license deemed in good standing per agency policy.
