Our Team:

The Innovation Manager is responsible for planning, development and execution of brand strategy and tactics with a focus on product innovation, from conception through formulation and optimization and launch, in alignment with company vision and goals.  As the subject matter expert and using strong data analysis skills, the Innovation Manager drives the cross-functional innovation and commercialization process, grows sales and delivers strong ROI on new and existing initiatives.  Fosters collaboration across functional groups, develops processes and workflows for excellent results.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Define short and long-term innovation and product development strategies for assigned brand(s). Responsible for developing the innovation road map that delivers on brand objectives and strategy.
  • In collaboration with the Business Unit team, identify strategic opportunities to develop unique selling propositions for key stakeholders including customers, channels and consumers. Responsible for developing differentiated product positioning for new products.
  • Utilize custom and syndicated consumer and market research to understand market opportunities, consumer trends, the competitive environment and consumer needs and to determine the potential for new product concepts.
  • Lead the development of innovation ideas and “stay ahead of the curve” in developing and delivering profitable opportunities. 
  • Lead cross-functional team to help drive the Discovery, Development and Activation processes.  Responsible for leading the development of the charter, EOD document and activation approval request, and gathering input and alignment from relevant functions.
  • Manage key aspects of the product development (PD) process as primary liaison with Brand, R&D and Ops team, coordinate clean hand-offs and collaborate with cross-functional work groups, to deliver on-time commercialization.
  • Work with the Brand, Marketing, Sales and Trade Marketing teams to help execute impactful advertising and trade promotion plans, along with effective sales materials and training, in support of the commercialization of innovation initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on the results of newly launched initiatives to ensure success in market and to make recommendations for process or product optimization. 

 

What you bring to the team:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or related field.
  • Seven years of demonstrated, related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products including Word, PowerPoint; Advanced Excel abilities.
  • Able to lead teams, manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines.
  • Preferred Experience and Education:
  • MBA in Marketing, Business or related field.
  • Consumer Packaged Goods or nutritional products industry
