Clinical Technician - Full Time 

About the Organization Red Oak Recovery, a CARF accredited program, is a premier clinically-driven therapy program for young adults and adolescents. We are here to serve clients, families, and other stakeholders through a very difficult time. Our team provides gender-specific treatment for young adults ages 18-30, and adolescent males 14-17 struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health issues. Our licensed and experienced staff provide the most clinically sophisticated and integrative substance abuse and mental health treatment available.

As a small clinically-driven program we have the ability to meet each client where they are mentally, spiritually, physically, and emotionally to design a treatment experience that is unique to them.

Description

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide the highest level of physical and emotional safety to our clients

  • Manage client groups (6-8 people) and facilitate the weekly program schedule

  • Work as part of a treatment team in order to provide clients with the highest level of clinical care

  • Empower clients to take responsibility for their actions

  • Promote and encourage clients to make healthy decisions

  • Teach coping strategies and emotional regulation skills to our clients

  • Lead clients on three day (two night) wilderness adventure trips while maintaining the highest level of physical and emotional safety

  • Introduce clients to the 12-step modality and normalize that process for those who may be unfamiliar with 12-step recovery

  • Dispense medications to clients on time and accurately. Document medication dispensing.

 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 21 years of age
  • Must be willing to work in shifts of either 4,5, or 8 days (with either 3,2, or 6 days off, respectively)
  • Current Adult CPR/Basic First Aid/AED certification
  • Current Non Violent Crisis Intervention certification (provided by Red Oak Recovery®)
  • Minimum HS diploma (or equivalent)

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Personal or professional experience with 12 Step Recovery
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or a Human Services field
  • Certification as CSAC, CSAC-I or registration with NCSAPPB
  • Experience leading adventure activities and challenge courses
  • Experience leading psycho-educational groups
  • Strong communication and de-escalation skills
