Description

Summary:

The instructor will be responsible for conducting Advanced Individual Training, (AIT) and Additional Skill Identifier (ASI) training. The objective of this effort is to successfully train the number of students assigned through the Structured Manning Decision Review (SMDR) process and the additional Soldiers tasked through the Training Resource Arbitration Panel (TRAP) process. Instructor/writers are needed to provide services to the Ordnance School so it can provide performance-oriented training as directed; using the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) approved Program of Instruction (POI) and in compliance with Government defined instructor/writer-to- student ratios. Training can be classroom training and/or hands-on performance oriented training, and simulation/virtual training.

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide academic instruction to conduct classroom/laboratory conferences, discussions, demonstrations, and practical exercises in accordance with course material, POI, technical manuals, and student workbooks.
  • Assist in updating student and instructor records, student counseling, and administrative duties in support of the required training.
  • Assist in Training Development by providing immediate feedback (within three days of instruction); and assisting in updating technical content of lesson material.
  • participate as a subject matter expert (SME) in developing revisions of the POIs, Lesson Plans and Training Support Packages (TSPs) to remedy any deficiencies or shortcomings identified during the preparation for and conduct of instruction.

Required Qualifications:

  • Have a minimum of three (3) years of technical experience in performing Two Level Maintenance on refrigeration equipment to include digital refrigerated containers, air conditioning equipment, automotive air-conditioning (A/C) systems, forced air heaters, fire suppression systems to include how to recharge/recovery fire extinguishers, and selected high pressure gas systemsMust meet one (1) of the following two (2) requirements:
    • Possess a Utilities Equipment Repairer School Trained Certificate (MOS 91C10) and Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer School Trained Certificate (MOS 91J30); OR
    • Possess a DD Form 214 that states trained as 91C Utilities Equipment Repairer or Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer School Trained Certificate (MOS 91J30).
  • Have the following current certifications (These certifications shall have been held for a period no less than three (3) years prior to the start work.:
    • EPA Section 609-Clean Air Act 1990 (Auto A/C) Certification.
    • EPA Section 608-Clean Air Act 1990 (Stationary Equipment-Type I Small Appliances).
    • EPA Section 608-Clean Air Act 1990 (Stationary Equipment-Type II High Pressure Systems).
  • Have knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint to ensure ability to access all required training tools.
  • Be a graduate of the Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course (CFDIC) or its equivalent within last 5 years. Please attach Certificate of Completion.
  • Be a graduate of the Installation Staff and Contractors Training Course (ISCTC) within last 3 years. Please attach Certificate of Completion.Have knowledge of applicable regulations and doctrine regarding MOS or ASI-specific training.
  • Have superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Be detail oriented and have excellent organization, planning, coordination and time management skills.
  • Have effective problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Have the ability to pass the student test prior to performing on this task order IAW OD Reg. 350-18.
  • Possess a minimum of three years (3) specific experience in teaching, development or reviewing course materials, training aids, and manuals for vocational or military training.
  • Have the ability to instruct in the Basic Electronics Maintenance Training (BEMT) portion of the POI including but not limited to these fields of electronics study: Theory, application, and troubleshooting of DC circuits, generation and connection of three-phase AC power sources, description and operation of basic electronic devices, test and troubleshoot wiring systems using handheld digital mustimeters, and principles of operation of both generators and motors.
  • Meet training, technical and tactical certification of course content and document experience level requirements as defined in the Course Management Plan of the course contracted to deliver.
  • Have basic mathematical skills up to and including roots and powers and metric notation
  • Have the ability to perform duties regarding moderate lifting (not to exceed 100bs), long periods of standing, sitting or walking, and endure inclement weather conditions on occasion.
