Clinical Technician - Third Shift 

About the Organization Red Oak Recovery, a CARF accredited program, is a premier clinically-driven therapy program for young adults and adolescents. We are here to serve clients, families, and other stakeholders through a very difficult time. Our team provides gender-specific treatment for young adults ages 18-30, and adolescent males 14-17 struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health issues. Our licensed and experienced staff provide the most clinically sophisticated and integrative substance abuse and mental health treatment available.

As a small clinically-driven program we have the ability to meet each client where they are mentally, spiritually, physically, and emotionally to design a treatment experience that is unique to them.

Description

The Willows at Red Oak Recovery is located in the beautiful rolling hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains just outside of Asheville N.C.  We are a clinically dynamic, trauma intensive substance abuse and mental health treatment program designed specifically for the unique needs of young adult women, ages 18-35. Our focus is on clinical care, and we utilize the latest research-supported clinical modalities to ensure positive outcomes.

This position is responsible for remaining awake and alert overnight while our clients are asleep in case of overnight emergencies or clients requiring assistance. This is a full-time position consisting of 8-hour, overnight shifts.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

  • All overnight staff must remain awake and alert at all times
  • Act as primary support for clients during overnight hours
  • Provide the highest level of physical and emotional safety to our clients
  • Work as part of a treatment team in order to provide clients with the highest level of clinical care
  • Implement coping strategies, emotional regulation skills, and crisis intervention to our clients if needed throughout the night
  • report information about any client movement via email to team and in person to guides before leaving shift
  • Monitor our client’s safety by conducting visual checks (seeing hair or skin) of clients every hour and ensuring alarm is set and functioning
  • Develop a positive rapport with our clients and staff
  • Maintain written and/or electronic client records in accordance with CARF & State Regulations as needed and requested by supervisor
  • Regularly attend trainings as required
  • Carry out necessary protocol for level watches throughout the night
  • complete house cleaning chores, including cleaning staff bathroom, sweeping house, wiping surfaces, etc.
  • Facilitate med counting during shift changes
  • Be available to administer meds when need with medical approval

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Current Adult CPR/Basic First Aid/AED certification (training provided)
  • Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification (training provided)
  • Minimum HS diploma (or equivalent)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience working with people in a mental health, healthcare, human services professional capacity
  • Strong communication and de-escalation skills
  • Personal or professional recovery/mental health/healthcare experience
