Position Description:

Navy Logistic Experts who have a strong commitment to the Warfighter. The ideal candidate would have experience obtained as a former U.S. Navy Senior Logistics enlisted or Navy Supply Corp with tours on unit, afloat, and/or fleet support. The successful analyst will have a sound background in at least one of the following areas of Navy logistics: Afloat logistics, food service, ammunition, ship store, medical, general logistics or supply chain management. We plan to engage all specialties in afloat logistics. This person will be able to perform an analysis of the applicable supply chain and its life cycle of a product, to include the acquisition, distribution, allocation, and delivery. Additionally, s/he should have the ability to analyze the different functions of planning, implementation, and integration. Although the logistics management SME does not need to be an expert in all of these activities, s/he must understand the functional fields in logistical planning (requirements, capabilities, lead times, and costs) with enough depth to enable proper analysis of the information and proceedures. Furthermore, the analyst should also have a broad knowledge of supply systems, procedures, programs and a strong commitment to deliver transformation that strengthens our Warfighters.

Position Requirements

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provides operations support pertaining to logistical supply items
  • Performs analysis of materials and determines optimum control levels
  • Creates and maintains databases, reports and spreadsheets as required
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Understands technology from the “users” perspective in a logistics environment to search, order, maintain inventory, and deal with material handling
  • Able to be the voice of the customer, work with User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) team to develop and present new functional interfaces that transforms the Navy
  • Supports testing as a user, understands the workflow and feel, and can constructively help the team improve the look and feel of the system to meet user acceptance requirements. Will not accept less than the best!
  • Must be a team player, work with others and get to mutually agreeable outcomes but not hesistant to represent the Fleet Warfighter.
  • Determines logistic support sequences and time phasing problems arising from location of operational area, and other factors, such as environmental and human factors affecting personnel. Deliver adaptive and transformative technologies to the deployed warfighter.

Highly Desired, But Not Required, Skills:

  • Afloat/Ashore Logistics Management; prioritizing multiple tasks to meet time critical requirements;
  • Coordinating with various functional areas to ensure timely receipt, testing, approval, packaging and documentation of inventory to meet fleet requirements.
  • May also include interpreting and evaluating demand history, analyzing end of life impacts on existing inventory, forecasting future demand based on fielding plans, researching and estimating cost trends for existing and future inventory, and providing recommendations to customers for inventory management updates.
  • The ability to exercise independent judgment while working on multiple projects of diverse scope will be key to successful performance of the task requirements associated with this position.
  • Experience in afloat automated supply/maintenance management systems and subject matter expertise in Afloat Supply (all domains) Procedures is highly desired.

Experience/Education Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years experience in Navy Logistics
  • Experience in a combination of Navy Afloat supply or maintenance logistics management.
  • Demonstrated experience in Navy Afloat Supply, logistics, inventory management, financial management, and the functionality of the integrated supply systems.
