Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Plans and directs activities concerned with the application and maintenance of AS9100/ISO-9001-2008, J-STD-001, and IPC-A 610 Class 3, and other Quality Standards relative to DoD and commercial Avionic contracts as it relates to Product Quality Systems.
  • Develops and establishes procedures, quality plans, inspection plans, quality performance trends, statistical plans, AS9102 First Article packages and technical quality inputs to proposals.
  • Works closely with Purchasing, Program Management, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing and Inspection Personnel on Product Quality issues related to Military, Aerospace and FAA.
  • Participate in the Material Review Board activities, failure analysis, and corrective/preventative action investigations.
  • Coordinates and works closely with suppliers and customers in relation to quality performance, trends, and corrective action.
  • Perform in-house AS9100 internal audits, external supplier audits and surveys to assure compliance to specified quality requirements.
  • Attain and maintain current knowledge of state-of-the-art engineering techniques, procedures, instruments and equipment.
  • Support Manufacturing in generating, reviewing, approving, implementing and maintaining Manufacturing Documentation including but not limited to work instructions, MOM’s (Method
  • Designs, implements and maintains quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished or finished products. Responsible for planning, implementing and managing compliance of manufacturing and production processes with internal and external safety, quality and regulatory standards requirements for worldwide distribution. Designs methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products. Performs analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary. May assure compliance to in-house and/or external specifications and standards (i.e. GLP, GMP, ISO, Six Sigma).

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Two year degree required; prefer a Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum 2-4 years equivalent industry experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Avionics industry experience required.

Domestic and international travel may occasionally be required to support business needs.
