Schedule Monday-Friday, 7 pm-3:30 pm for a maximum of 4-6 months. Schedule subject to vary based on departmental need.  
Pay Rate $16.00/hr.  
Description

SUMMARY
Performs a variety of manual labor tasks. Provides general maintenance of the buildings and grounds at the Wastewater Treatment plant, CSO’s, Lift stations and related work as assigned. Under direct supervision and indirect supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This list represents the types of duties required by the position. Other duties may be assigned as reasonably expected.

• Clean buildings, tunnels, tanks at the plant
• Must be able to walk behind mower
• Clean various City vehicles.
• Operates various types of equipment associated with building and grounds maintenance.
• Minor building/management system repairs.
• Aids and assist in Parts Room.
• Grounds maintenance
• Ability to make sound judgment independently
• Must be able to climb and work from ladder
• Must interact with co-workers and the public with tact and diplomacy
• Must be able to work in high places
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Other work as assigned.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma, equivalent education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to perform the essential duties.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED
• Ability to perform physical labor.
• Ability to manage time without close supervision.
• Ability to follow directions and the ability to operate related equipment and tools.
• Ability to operate various types of equipment such as floor scrubbers, floor sweepers, lawn mowers, lawn tractors, weed eaters, and hedge trimmers.
• Ability to work outdoors, sometimes in adverse weather conditions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENCE, REGISTRATION
• Valid Driver’s License required.

EQUIPMENT
Floor scrubbers, floor sweepers, lawn mowers, lawn tractors, weed eaters, hand tools, shovel, hedge trimmers, etc.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be required to sit, walk, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally be required to walk; use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds as needed. Ability the work in adverse weather conditions requiring and moderate degree of physical stamina. Specific vision abilities required in this job include vision and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work to include inside office environment and outdoors, sometimes in adverse weather conditions. Exposure to oil, greases, solvents and other chemicals that may be hazardous.
